The couple was married in Wms Co on 11 Jan 1857 (Marriage V2 p174). John stated that Elizabeth from 1 Aug - 29 Aug 1857 refused to sleep and cohabit with him; she stated she never would. On 29 Aug 1857 she abandoned him and was guilty of extreme cruelty. John wanted a divorce.
