The couple was married in Plattville, MI on 12 Aug 1875. George was willfully absent for three years or more plus he had failed to provide for Elmina and their daughter who was three years and ten months old. Elmina's relatives helped her. George owned Lot 1 in Hamer, Wms Co, OH, valued at $75. According to The Bryan Press, 8 Dec 1881, p5 c3, the court gave Elmira a divorce, along with restoration of her maiden name, custody of the child, and $400 alimony.
