Additional Info on McClure-Kelly Family

By Pamela Pattison Lash (updated 13 July 2011)

Recently I was contacted by a McClure researcher on the James and Harriet McClure family and their son Samuel Edward McClure.  Mother and Father James and Harriet divorced twice and son Samuel Edward divorced once in Williams Co, OH.  "Eddie" went on to marry Carrie Kelly whose family also lived in Williams County.  Here is more information on the McClure-Kelly family.

I've received information from Beaver County, PA Genealogical Society. Their records indicated James Parkley McHaffie (of Beaver County, PA, b. 12/22/1829, d. 1/26/1921) married Margaret Jane McClure (of Mt. Hope, Holmes, Ohio, b. 2/5/1825, d. 6/3/1902).

I've also found in Delayed Birth Registation Index of Beaver County, PA (R 974.892 D343) that James Parkley McHaffie was born in Beaver County, PA.

I think this is the connection. When James C McClure mustered out of the Union Army, he was in Beaver, Pennsylvania. The McHaffie family was also located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. James and Maraget both married into the McHaffie family. I don't know whom met whom first, but the pieces fit together.
