Family Group Sheet for Thomas W Wiles and Wife Frances Virginia Priest

One of my projects this last month was to help a friend of our daughter with her genealogy. (email from Donna Gorrell) Thomas W Wiles Rites Wednesday, EDGERTON  Thomas William Wiles, 89, of Waterloo, Ind., passed away Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock in the Souder Hosptial at Auburn, Ind. He was a former resident of Edgerton.   He worked as a farmer, then located in Edgerton and was employed at the old basket factory. About five years ago he sold his home here and went to stay with a son, Charles, at Oakwood, Ohio. He remained there until 3 ½ years ago, when he went to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emery Camp, at Waterloo.   Surviving besides the son and daughter are another daughter, Mrs. Lyman E. Meyer, of Edgerton; 13 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren; also five sisters, Mrs. Nettie Barrick of Wisconsin; Mrs. Mattie Nelson of Toledo; Mrs. Lena Hosler of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Bessie McMillian and Mrs. Goldie Ankney, of Sherwood.   Services will be held at the Krill Funeral Home here at 10 am Wednesday with the Rev Lester P Taylor, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Aaron Zigler, first child of Benjamin Franklin and Catherine Libey
Zigler, was born February 5, 1824 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania and
married in 1846 in Taylor Falls, Trumbull County, Ohio, to Mary Polly
Shirey who was born in West Penn Township, Schuylkill County,
Pennsylvania. Mary moved with her parents to Taylor Falls, Trumbull
County, Ohio in 1835.

In the late 1840’s Aaron and Mary moved to near Shelby, Richland
County, Ohio. They later moved to Plymouth, Ohio.
They lived in Richland County for over 50 years. Aaron belonged to the
G.A.R. He served three years and six months in Company H. three hundred
fifty-fourth Infantry during the Civil War.

Mary died August 16, 1900 and Aaron died December 15, 1900. They
are both buried in Greenlawn Cemetery at Plymouth, Ohio.
Aaron and Mary raised eleven children.
