WCGS Meeting - Upcoming May and June Meetings

WCGS VP Pat Goebel sent the following about Williams County Genealogical Society events:

The Williams County Genealogy Society held a lock-in on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library.  Members and non-members spent the evening researching their family histories.  One non-member even joined the society that night.  A productive session occurred for those who participated.

The next meeting will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at the West Annex of the Williams County Public Library in Bryan, Ohio.  James Jackson from Battle Creek, Michigan will be the guest speaker.  He will talk about finding a productive genealogy summer.  Join us to find “tips” to organizing your summer researching projects. The public is invited.

The 29th Annual Banquet will be held at the Moose Lodge Banquet room on Thursday, June 18, 2012 at 6:30 pm. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dale Kern portraying George Winter, a portrait painter of the Native Americans from this area in the 1800’s. Call Jane Kelly at 419-636-6734 to make reservation. This meeting is by reservations only.

The purpose of WCGS is the preservation of county records and family research.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, excluding July and August, at 6:30 pm, in the conference room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library.
