WCGS VP Pat Goebel has this information about the October 2012 WCGS meeting and the upcoming November 2012 event. Here's what she has to say:
The Williams County Genealogical Society met Monday, October 8, 2012 in the Harmon Room, West Annex, Bryan Public Library. Chuck Eberle, Van Wert, portrayed Robert E. Lee. Lee told his life story from his “miracle birth” up to his resignation from the Union. The capacity crowd listened intently as he described his early life, choices he made in his career, and why he left the Union Army. It was fascinating to hear the southern viewpoint on the war. We hope to have him back to continue where he left off-the start of the Civil War.
Next month, November 12, 1012, Tanya Brunner will be the guest speaker. She will be speaking on “The Importance of Remembrance…The War of 1812" and the wars that followed. Come early to get a good seat. Meeting is in the Harmon Room, West Annex, Bryan Public Library, 6:30pm.
The purpose of WCGS is the preservation of county records and family research. Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, excluding July and August, at 6:30pm, in the conference room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library. The public is invited for all the meetings.
