Pat Goebel, WCGS Co-VP, has a message about the Christmas meeting and the next WCGS meeting in January. Here's what she has to report:
The Williams County Genealogical Society met for their Annual Christmas Celebration on Dec. 10, 2012 in the Harmon Room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library. Good food, tips for researching and lots of laughter filled the event. Alice Meuleman played Christmas music on her dulcimer to the delight of every one.
The next meeting will be Monday, January 14, 1013, 6:30 pm, at the Harmon Room in the Williams Co. Public Library, West Annex, Bryan, Ohio. Marty Richie, WCGS Webmaster, will show us how to use the free section of the Family Search website to locate our ancestors. She will take us step by step on how to find your family names on the site. It would help if you could register with Family Search website; it’s free, before the meeting. Bring a list of family surnames for researching. You must pre-register for the workshop at 419-636-6734, local history department, because space is limited. You may bring your own working device (laptop, I-Pad, etc.) with you or you may just observe.
