I ...Hi Jean,<br /><br />Thank you for sharing your research.<br /><br />I did a look up for a marriage of John McDowell and Jean Hogeland and they were married in 1826. This would mean that Thomas was born illegitimate in 1820.<br /><br />This is certainly possible of course. In my research I couldn't find any parents for Thomas (any that were documented any way).
