Frank C. Crawford v Alice Holmes Crawford (Journal 9 p420 - 8 Mar 1878; Journal 10 p402 - 13 Mar 1880)

The couple applied for a marriage license in Huron Co, OH on 15 August 1876, but no return was listed. Frank brought the divorce action in 1878 but the case was dismissed. He refiled later stating that Alice had been absent for three years or more. The couple had at least one child, M. Blanche Crawford.
Alice Holmes, born 17 January 1856 in Wyandot Co, OH, was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Vail Holmes. She was enumerated with her parents in the 1860 Pitt, Wyandot Co, OH and 1870 Blooming Grove, Richland Co, OH Federal Census Records as Alice 4 OH and Alice 13 OH, respectively. By the 1880 Maple Grove, Barry Co, MI Federal Census she was Alice Crawford 22 OH married with her daughter Mertie 3 OH, residing with her father. On 13 October 1880 in Barry Co, MI she married John McIntosh (1850-1908). Alice died in Hastings, Barry Co, MI on 7 March 1942 and was buried in the Barryvile Cemetery there.
Frank Crawford, born December 1856 in Ohio, was the son of John and Susan Bauer Crawford. He was enumerated with his parents in both the 1870 Cass Twp, Richland Co, OH and 1880 Gorham Twp, Fulton Co, OH Federal Census Records as Franklin 13 OH and Frank 23 OH single. He married Matilda Jane Saunders (1864-1929) in Waldron, Hillsdale Co, MI on 11 September 1880. They lived in NW Twp, Williams Co, OH and were listed in the 1900 and 1910 Federal Census Records there. Frank and Matilda had five known children – Elgin (m), Blanche, Alta, Dale, and Mabel V. Frank and Alice’s daughter, Myrtle Blanche, born 1878 in West Unity, married a Mr Wilson. Frank Crawford died on 24 February 1925 in Williams Co, OH and was buried in the West Franklin Cemetery, Fulton Co, OH.
