The couple was married on 6 Apr 1852 in Richland Co, OH.  Their surname may be DEIPER; there appeared to be no record for this marriage in that county.  Matilda stated that on 26 June 1852 the couple was in Richland Co on their way to a religious meeting; they got about 1/4 mile on the trip when Charles stopped and pretended that he forgot a handkerchief and started back home to get one.  He left her on the road and she had not seen him since.  On 5 Sept 1855 she learned that he resided in Shelby, Richland Co, OH.  The case was dismissed.

There is a marriage in Richland Co, OH on 25 April 1852 between Matilda Miller and John Donbert/Doubert/Dohlur.  Matilda Miller, born 1835 NY was the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Miller who were listed in the 1850 Sharon Twp, Richland Co, OH Federal Census record.  By 1860 this family lived in Madison Twp, Williams Co, OH, so it’s possible that this is the bride’s side of the divorce detailing. More research needs to be done.
