The action was continued twice and then dismissed; the record did not mention when and where this couple was married; however I discovered the marriage took place in Defiance Co, OH on 11 July 1874 (V2 p269). The Deckers had at least three children, Franklin (12 October 1877-1 Jan 1880), a second son Joseph Franklin, b 5 May 1883 in Bryan (Birth V2 p57) and Carrie bc1875, who were mentioned in the divorce. By the third filing in which Alice claimed Cyrus was a habitual drunk for three years or more, a divorce was granted and she received custody of minors Frank and Carrie plus alimony on 17 Nov 1887.
Alice, born 1857- August 1859, was the daughter of Joseph and Caroline McDorman Kibble. According to the 1860 Brunersburg, Tiffin Twp, Defiance Co, OH federal census p422, the John Joseph Kibble family was listed as John 34 OH, Caroline 24 PA, (Joseph) Champion 7 OH, Alice 3 OH, Catherine 3 OH, and (Lillian)Violet 10/12 OH. Many of these people were buried in the Kibble Cemetery in that county. Alice was also located in the 1870 and 1880 Noble Twp, Defiance Co, OH Federal Census records as Alice 14 OH and Alice Kibble 24 OH, daughter with her parents, respectively in the 1880 listing her daughter Carrie Decker 5 OH was listed as well.
A Mrs. Alice Decker married Simon Filson on 4 Aug 1888 in Wms Co (Marriage V5 #1276). Simon's wife Nancy Canaan Filson died in Montpelier on 20 Oct 1887; however, in the 1900 Pleasant Twp, Hancock Co, OH federal census p122, Alice Decker was listed as Alice b.Aug 1859 (40) OH divorced, and son Frank May 1882 (18) OH-MI-OH, plus a boarder. This could be the divorcee and her son Frank.
Cyrus Decker, born 13 April 1850 NY, was the son of Henry and Alice Crampton Decker. Cyrus married Emma Keizer on 12 July 1890 in Williams Co, OH; Emma was the daughter of Henry and Mary Shaffer Keizer.
