Biographical Info – from Stories of Fountain City, Van Gundy, 1975, p169: When his coffin was being lowered, Mrs. Kampf halted the proceedings to have each of the children say a prayer and make promises to remain honest and honorable to their father over the open grave as a Swiss custom of farewell.  Witnesses were greatly affected by such a heartfelt display of emotion.
